Mathieu van der Poel's return to cyclocross was nothing but impressive but it was not without it's mistakes. The World Champion crashed on lap 4 of the race, although it did not have major consequences.
It was a crash in a tricky corner, the Dutchman slid out in a right-hander and lost traction, getting tangled in the nets in the process. However, this only cost him a few seconds, and appeared not to cause any injury.
