Unstoppable Fem van Empel comfortably wins Overijse Druivencross; Alvarado and van der Heijden complete podium

It was with comfort and little issue that Fem van Empel won her third race out of three this season. The World Champion attacked on the first lap of the Overijse Druivencross and took the triumph.

Marie Schreiber took the holeshot and led the first minutes of the race however as van Empel hit the front of the race with 3 minutes of racing, the winning gap was immediately created. With her main rivals not in the wheel, she took advantage to strike hard early on.

Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado led the chase over the first lap, Inge van der Heijden and Annemarie Worst rode quite close to the Dutchwoman, until halfway through the race where she had the power to distance the rest of the field. She finished second on the day. The third place was taken by Inge van der Heijden.
