The recurring back pain, which tormented Thibau Nys on Sunday in the final of the World Cup Cross in Dublin and knocked him back to seventh place, appears to be under control already.
To such an extent that Nys will combine the fifth Superprestige event in Boom (Saturday) and the World Cup cyclo-cross in Flamanville, France (Sunday) next weekend.
"Another 'double weekend' to end his first block of competitions," said Thibau's dad Sven, team manager of Baloise Trek Lions. "Then he will go on an altitude camp to Calpe for two weeks with Lidl-Trek."
During that period, Nys will not compete in the Exact Cross in Essen and the World Cup round in Val di Sole, Italy. He will also skip X2O round in Herentals on December 16. He resumes on Sunday 17 in Namur.
