Silver for Iserbyt at Hamme brings him closer to overall X2O Trofee victory - "The classification of the X2O is important for me"

Eli Iserbyt secured second place in the X2O Trofee Hamme, with Wout van Aert taking the top spot and Michael Vanthourenhout and Pim Ronhaar following behind.

"This second place feels good," Iserbyt told Sporza. He continues, “I had to come in for a while, but the last two laps, I felt good again and was able to run out on Lars van der Haar. With Pim Ronhaar, we had a bit of a third teammate in the breakaway. He always rode a solid pace."

Iserbyt currently holds the top spot in the overall standings for the X2O Badkamers Trofee, with a lead of 2 minutes and 35 seconds over Lars van der Haar, his closest competitor. "The classification of the X2O trophy is important for me because it's the only classification I can still win," said Iserbyt.

With the World Championship next week looming on the horizon, he has deemed it necessary to participate in the Besançon World Cup as an additional means of preparing himself for the highly-anticipated event. "Tomorrow, I'm still riding in Besançon to build up some extra hardness, to take it then easy next week," concluded Iserbyt.
