Puck Pieterse was able to deliver a fantastic performance in the X2O Trofee Herentals. The Dutchwoman was no match as she created a gap and remained out of reach. This is her seventh victory of the season.
“I could kind of choose what I wanted to ride over the Christmas period. I didn't want to do too much, but some extra besides the World Cups,” said Pieterse She continues, “I've ridden here before in 2020, so I knew it was a nice round. That's why I wanted to come back.”
Pieterse controlled the race from the start and was in the lead the whole time. “I tried to ride technically as good and as hard as possible, although at a certain point, you have to accept that you don't go down that steep hill locked in. That still almost went wrong on the last lap, but I paid close attention to safety,” said Pieterse.
This marks her seventh win of the season and her first in 2023. “I can still keep count though. It's not that many yet, but it's starting to add up nicely now, yes. I certainly had to do my best. Walking up that ski mountain and then cycling was not easy. I had to go all the way, also because there was a stretch of road in front of it where you want to keep going. It went well today,” concluded the Dutchwoman.
