Finally. Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal managed to confirm their position as one of the cyclocross giants with two victories for Eli Iserbyt last weekend. The team manager Jurgen Mettepenningen can thus be happy about how the weekend went for his team, but some of his competitors are not so happy...

When Iserbyt won in Kortrijk on Saturday, he had a lot to thank for to his teammate Michael Vanthourenhout who ensured the chase behind couldn't find the right motion. That first victory on Saturday was still being talked about on Sunday during the Antwerpen World Cup. Iserbyt came victorious there as well.

Alpecin-Deceuninck team boss Christoph Roodhooft was still infuriated in front of the camera of Sporza when the topic came down to Kortrijk. After all it was Alpecin's Niels Vandeputte and Jente Michels who came 2nd and 4th respectively, unable to catch up to Iserbyt. Thanks to Vanthourenhout.

"Isn't it logical that we play the team game?" Mettepenningen lashes back at the criticism in Het Nieuwsbald. "Why else would I set up a team? If this is no longer possible, then we can better start as individuals and I don't have to take care of a team. No, Michael has played his role correctly twice. Because it is clear that he is also in good shape. In the end, everything starts with good legs. And they both have them."
