The 2022-2023 cyclocross campaign was a very ambitious one for Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, however it turned disastrous. An injury sees the French rider leave out the 2023 races, and skip the World Championships.
Signed by INEOS Grenadiers, Ferrand-Prevot was a big bet for the off-road terrain. Although not her specialty, she is a former World Champion in the dirt and had big ambitions of targeting the Hoogerheide World Championships. After suffering an injury in the Gavere World Cup and some underwhelming results however, she's resting up to prepare for the MTB season.
Ferrand-Prevot started her campaign in the Koppenbergcross, where she suffered several mechanicals and finished 9th. Her campaign was riddled with mechanical issues and pit lane errors from the staff, which made it evident that the British team lacked the experience in the field.
Although the experience will serve for future seasons, this one has ended. Her best results was a seventh position in the Dublin World Cup and Namur World Championships, but only on two occasions did the 30-year old crack the Top10 in the women's field.
