Oscar Sevilla continues to win as he nears 50: "It's the fruit of my work, I'm the happiest man in the world"

Óscar Sevilla has once again become the backbone of Team Medellín - EPM after Miguel Angel Lopez was preventively sanctioned by the UCI for doping. The Spanish cyclist, who turns 47 this September 29, continues to win victories in Colombia.

Yesterday he won the fifth stage of the Clásico RCN Banco Agrario finishing in Pereira and could not help but express his enormous pride in statements collected by Antena 2: "Satisfaction, happiness, fruit of the work and the other day I tried in Tunja, but it is cycling. You lose more times than you win. I had this award and I feel like the happiest man in the world".

The Spaniard makes it clear that victories are important to him, but at this stage of his career even more so are those of his teammates: "You always want to win, but I'm more committed to the work of the team, but I'm more excited that my teammates win. Whoever knows me knows that I'm generous, I'm not one of those ambitions, but if I get the opportunity I'm going to take it. Now my place in cycling is different, with more tranquility, moral and mental support to the team".

On continuing to race at his age, he comments that his family gives him the energy he needs to continue: "It is a privilege because being at my age competing is a great prize. I have the support of my family and we go day by day enjoying what I do".
