Marianne Vos has won the Urban Cross Kortrijk. She gained the lead in the second lap and maintained it till the end to secure her first CX victory of the season.
Zoe Backstedt had a nice start. Lucinda Brand followed her along with Marianne Vos. Soon Denise Betsema and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado joined Vos in her chase. Brand was leading by the end of the lap.
Brand lost the lead in the second lap as she got stuck behind her saddle when remounting. Vos was leading while Alvarado and Betsema followed her. Brand was still trying to join the trio at the front.
In the last lap, Vos and Betsema dropped Alvarado, but she recovered quickly, and this time, it was Betsema who went down. Having crossed the finish line first, Marianne Vos claimed her first CX victory of the season. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado finished second, while Denise Betsema took the bronze.
