The Overijse Druivencross was a very dramatic race all the way to the very end. Eli Iserbyt took his first win of the season ahead of Michael Vanthourenhout, defeating Thibau Nys who crashed almost in sight of the line.
The race started off quite compact and with a field including all of the main figures that were expected. Eli Iserbyt made a move in the second lap of the explosive and technical circuit and dictated the first differences, with Kevin Kuhn chasing - as Thibau Nys crashed and lost significant time.
Nys caught the chasing group in the end of the third lap, whilst Kuhn was also caught, leading to a clear chase of Iserbyt. On the fourth lap Nys initiated the chase, over 20 seconds back, as a bit of rain fell and made it a bit more challenging on the course.
In the fifth lap Lars van der Haar overtook the chasing duo and reached Iserbyt himself, hitting the front immediately - with Nys and Vanthourenhout reaching right after. The quartet looked quite balanced, until on lap 7 Michael Vanthourenhout launched a very dangerous attack.
Van der Haar was unable to follow, whilst then Iserbyt attacked the final lap. Nys made a very risky move within the final minutes of race to divebomb Iserbyt in a descent, succeeding but dramatically falling in the process. It was almost at the finish line, Iserbyt held the gap over Michael Vanthourenhout to take his first win of the season - with Lars van der Haar and Thibau Nys finishing third and fourth.
