Belgian selection for men's Cyclocross World Championships in Tabor revealed

The Cyclocross World Championships in Tabor are quickly approaching. One of the first nation's to reveal their selection are Belgium.

With Michael Vanthourenhout guaranteed selection due to his victory at the European Championship and Eli Iserbyt likely to be similarly sure of selection via the overall triumph at the UCI World Cup, Belgian national coach, Sven Vanthourenhout had some thinking to do about the remaining selections.

For the likes of Joran Wyseure, Niels Vandeputte, Thibau Nys and Laurens Sweeck, their form in recent weeks meant it was always likely they would be competing for the rainbow jersey in the Czech Republic on the 3rd of February.

Locking out the team though, are the experienced Jens Adams and Toon Vandebosch, meaning it's disappointment for Lander Loockx, Thijs Aerts and others as Witse Meeussen holds the ninth and final spot in the team.

Belgian men for Cyclocross World Championships:

Michael Vanthourenhout

Eli Iserbyt

Laurens Sweeck

Niels Vandeputte

Thibau Nys

Joran Wyseure

Toon Vandebosch

Jens Adams

Witse Meeussen – if Eli Iserbyt wins the final ranking of the World Cup
