Wout van Aert about the 'strange' naming of his Strava rides: "At our first training we were singing Fixkes "Kvraagetaan" and it stuck with us"

This Sunday Wout van Aert starts his road season with the Clasica de Almeria. While training at Mallorca with his Visma | Lease a Bike teammates Julien Vermote and Tiesj Benoot, the Belgian accustomed a rather unusual habit. As the loyal user of Strava he is, every one of his recent training rides is now named with lyrics from Dutch-speaking musicians.

"It has gotten a bit out of hand," Van Aert said in conversation with Sporza. "I have been making a sport of giving training a special name for some time now. At our first training we were singing Fixkes' Kquestionetaan. That stuck and I often use something like that for the titles on Strava."

"Then I came up with the idea to title all training sessions in Mallorca with a sentence from a Dutch song. It has become a challenge," laughs Van Aert. "When I see nice words or beautiful rhymes, as Sam Gooris can inimitably do, I think it's fantastic."
