VIDEO: Wout van Aert wins stage 5 of the Tour of Britain with late flyer

Finally, Olav Kooij has been beaten at the 2023 Tour of Britain. Sadly for the rest of the peloton however, the victory remained in the hands of Jumbo-Visma as Wout van Aert won stage 5 with late a flyer.

As the entire peloton seemed prepared to battle it out for Kooij's wheel, the Dutchman showed experience beyond his years and in a tactical masterstroke began to sit up, allowing his leadout man van Aert to ride clear at the front. As the sprinters took a moment to realise what was happening and question whether or not to chase, van Aert powered to victory.
