Team Visma | Lease a Bike have not had good luck of late. There were hopes that bad luck was behind them heading into the 2024 Tour de France but sadly, it seems not.
Ahead of the intermediate sprint of the day, the peloton was beginning to stress with positioning being key for a number of teams. Sadly, a duo of Team Visma | Lease a Bike riders paid the price for this raise in the stress levels as both Wout van Aert and Matteo Jorgenson were brought hard to the Italian tarmac. Although both were able to quickly remount and return to the peloton with just a small rip in the jersey, INEOS Grenadiers' Laurens De Plus looked a lot worse off with blood visible and his jersey ripped open all down one side.
