UAE Team Emirates strengthen for 2025 with signing of one of Intermarché - Wanty's key riders

Undoubtedly the strongest team in the peloton across the 2024 season, UAE Team Emirates have begun preparations for next year and bolstered their ranks by acquiring one of Intermarché - Wanty's key workhorses and time trial specialists.

The man in question? GC winner at the 2024 ZLM Tour, Rune Herregodts. "I’m very pleased and excited to be part of UAE Team Emirates for next season," the 26-year-old Belgian tells his new team in an official press release. "It’s one of the best teams in the world and to be there in that group of top riders with the best staff and equipment is something I’m really happy about and looking forward to. I am ready to give my maximum to grow in the team over the coming years.”

With five victories on his palmares to date, Herregodts is expected to come in as more of a helper than a man to contest victory himself. But, with his proven time trial prowess and the benefit of UAE Team Emirates exquisite training system and proven development of riders, don't be surprised to see Herregodts mix it up with the best in 2025.

"We’re very pleased to welcome Rune into the team for next season," adds Mauro Gianetti, Team Principal & CEO at UAE Team Emirates. "He is a powerful rider who is now coming into his best years and we are proud to have him with us for the years to come.”
