Three days, three violent attacks that left (most) of his competition in the dust. It's fair to say
Tadej Pogacar came into this
Giro d'Italia hungry for victories. His sports director and mentor
Joxean Matxin is no less impressed than the rest of the world, however he notes this doesn't surprise him considering Pogacar had a 'perfect' preparation for the Italian Grand tour.
"Tadej's run-in to the 'Corsa Rosa' has been perfect, in terms of results (seven victories) and lack of mishaps, especially if we compare it with what happened just a year ago: at this same point in the season, after the Tadej's fall in Liege (he broke his wrist), we didn't know if we would have enough time to prepare and be competitive in the Tour de France," Matxin posted on his Facebook.
