Trek - Segafredo has been the highest scoring team in the 2023 national championships. They have won road titles with Simmons 🇺🇸, Skjelmose 🇩🇰, Kirsch 🇱🇺 , Liepins 🇱🇻 and Vacek 🇨🇿 and ITT titles with Ghebreigzabhier 🇪🇷 , Kirsch 🇱🇺 and Skujins 🇱🇻.
Over the past weekend, lots of National Championships were taking place around the world. No team was more successful at these events that Trek - Segafredo, soon to be Lidl-Trek.
Riders from the Trek team won no fewer than eight national titles. Five on the road courtesy of Quinn Simmons (United States), Mattias Skjelmose (Denmark), Alex Kirsch (Luxembourg), Emīls Liepiņš (Latvia) and Mathias Vacek (Czech Republic). Also their were a further three national titles won against the clock thanks to Liepins, Kirsch and Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier (Eritrea).
All this means that in terms of UCI points gained, Trek lead the way with 967. Close behind in second with 907 points, are UAE Team Emirates who took seven National Championship victories including a double Slovenian success through Tadej Pogacar.
There is then a much bigger gap to third placed EF Education-EasyPost 300 points behind Trek with a grand total of 667.
