Trek - Segafredo has been the highest scoring team in the 2023 national championships. They have won road titles with Simmons 🇺🇸, Skjelmose 🇩🇰, Kirsch 🇱🇺 , Liepins 🇱🇻 and Vacek 🇨🇿 and ITT titles with Ghebreigzabhier 🇪🇷 , Kirsch 🇱🇺 and Skujins 🇱🇻.
Trek - Segafredo top list of UCI points gained at National Championships

Over the past weekend, lots of National Championships were taking place around the world. No team was more successful at these events that Trek - Segafredo, soon to be Lidl-Trek.
Riders from the Trek team won no fewer than eight national titles. Five on the road courtesy of Quinn Simmons (United States), Mattias Skjelmose (Denmark), Alex Kirsch (Luxembourg), Emīls Liepiņš (Latvia) and Mathias Vacek (Czech Republic). Also their were a further three national titles won against the clock thanks to Liepins, Kirsch and Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier (Eritrea).
All this means that in terms of UCI points gained, Trek lead the way with 967. Close behind in second with 907 points, are UAE Team Emirates who took seven National Championship victories including a double Slovenian success through Tadej Pogacar.
There is then a much bigger gap to third placed EF Education-EasyPost 300 points behind Trek with a grand total of 667. Impressively, Israel - Premier Tech find themselves in the top 5, the highest ranked non-World Tour team, with 536. Check out the full list down below courtesy of a Tweet by Raul Banqueri.

- The main SPOTY award is "decided" by public vote but the BBC "expert panel" decide who you can choose from, that choice has an equal split of genders and is focussed on the sports BBC show and a disabled athlete. Oh yea the ubiquitous "Pub Games" candidate there too, Darts and Snooker are not sports. The other awards are decided by the "Expert Panel" again it's about the sports BBC show, cycling has had it.
