Team DSM have came to the Tour of Turkey with their full leadout, with Cees Bol and Alberto Dainese leading the team, however they have taken the win at today's fifth stage of the race with Sam Welsford who surprised at the finish.

It was a stage designed for the sprinters, Drone Hopper - Androni Giocatolli and Team BikeExchange - Jayco controlled it during most of the day, before a furious run-up to the line in Ayvalik. As some of the other sprints, it was a chaotic one, with a nasty crash in the final kilometers affecting some riders.
Lotto Soudal came through to the front to position Caleb Ewan at the end, with BORA also having a strong leadout, but none have succeeded as Jasper Philipsen pierced through in the final meters, however he was overtaken by Sam Welsford in the final meters. The Australian got his first pro win against world-class competition, as he beat Philipsen and Arvid de Kleijn in the line.
