Timothy Dupont has recently talked about how he was disappointed on Bingoal Pauwels Sauces WB not keeping in on board for the 2023 season, but the veteran sprinter has struck a deal with Continental team Tarteletto - Isorex and will remain in the peloton.
“I want to show that I can still do it. Last season, despite everything, I still achieved great results. I want to show next season that I can still do it and that I am not written off," Dupont said in an interview with Sporza. One of the most prominent figures in the Belgian classics circuit, Dupont is a pro since 2019 and has always raced away from the World Tour, however to great success throughout his career.
He's lost several family members in quick succession this year, but still bounced back to beat World Tour competition at the ZLM Tour where he took his sole win of the year. He had mentioned he was to become a leadout man for a rider the team was looking to sign, but after negotiations failed Dupont was no longer a key piece to the team - with Italian Matteo Malucelli coming in to fill the space.
“I am very grateful to Peter Bauwens (Tarteletto-Isorex team manager, ed.) for this opportunity. We run a great program with competitions such as Nokere Koerse, the Bredene Koksijde Classic and the Grand Prix Jean-Pierre Monseré. All races that are written on my body," he concluded.
