B&B Hotels-KTM's journey in the peloton is coming to an end and many riders and staff will be left without a team for 2023 - whilst others will have last-minute searches. One of those riders being Pierre Rolland, who is very unsatisfied with the outcome of the French team's ambitions.
"Surprised to discover where my future will be written in the press. I will keep you informed in due time on my social networks of what my future will be," Rolland wrote on social media. Following teammates Jens Debusschere and Eliot Lietaer who criticized the lack of communication and the fact that the news were put out so late, Rolland has shared the same opinion stating that he learnt of his future over the press and not through his own team.
After months of negotiations and a roller-coaster over the last few weeks, the French team is coming to an end after failing to secure a boost in it's budget. The likes of Mark Cavendish and Cees Bol were set to join the team alongside several leadout men, boosting it's capacity to fight against World Tour teams.
Furthermore in the last few days L'Équipe talked of a possible link from the Frenchman to TotalEnergies that might have sparked the statement. However, at the time being, Rolland is finding himself in a position where he is in need to seek a new outfit.
