Tadej Pogacar's Tour de France at risk as teammate tests positive for Covid-19

The second Covid-19 case has been found in the peloton this morning as UAE Team Emirates' Vegard Stake Laengen tested positive and leaves Tadej Pogacar with less support - besides posing a risk to the team's integrity.

Laengen played a crucial role in chasing the breakaway yesterday, which allowed the Slovenian to head towards a win at Planche des Belles Filles. The team suffered through some Covid cases at the Tour de Suisse, with Marc Hirschi for example who is currently in domestique duty aswell; and Matteo Trentin who tested positive in the days leading up to the race. Mikkel Bjerg also tested positive at the Tour of Slovenia where he was racing alongside Pogacar, and is present in the race.

The yellow jersey is left without a domestique, but perhaps most importantly is now under risk as the virus may transmit throughout the team.
