As
Team DSM's leader on the Ardennes classics,
Soren Kragh Andersen is under pressure to perform this year but he has been one of the main figures in the classics so far. In a Q&A with the team, he has answered to some questions that were put to him.
Despite being by far the most active member of the team in the cobbled classics so far, finishing fifth at Gent-Wevelgem and being on the attack at E3 Saxo Bank Classics, he will forego the cobbled monuments in order to focus on the upcoming Ardennes classics: "My first goals are the Ardennes classics, we believe that they fit me better as a rider and that we can go for a result there. I’m looking forward to switching things up a bit and seeing the results!"
Andersen has finished fifth at Milano-Sanremo after delivering a powerful attack at the Poggio which almost saw him escape the group of favourites. He has been one of the few Team DSM riders who's been performing at a high level this year, and he will be looking to carry that form into the rest of the spring.
He's also said, regarding the balance between racing and resting: "It is always nice to come back home and relax. Racing can be very intense and being at home gives you a moment to process all that and switch off a little. Of course, you need to train but it is nice to be at home and enjoy the calmness."
