Roger Adria continues his successful season with 4th place in stage 3 of Tour de Suisse: "I’m happy with my sprint and my performance"

Roger Adrià is enjoying a very strong debut season in BORA - hansgrohe jersey. With seven top 10 results, you can almost smell the first victory of the year for the 26-year-old Spaniard must be just around the corner.

While today's stage went to favourite Thibau Nys, Adrià was up there to pull off another noteworthy performance. The Bora puncheur managed to reach fourth spot in the uphill finish of stage 3 of on-going Tour de Suisse. Combine it with 8th yesterday and a solid opening prologue and Adrià, even if just briefly, enters the overall top 10 ahead of the high mountains of coming stages.

"The team was fully committed and worked a lot for me - big shout out to the boys," Adrià expressed via team X channel. "In the final 30km positioning was really crucial, I think we’ve done a pretty good job here. The uphill sprint was super hard and in the end, it was the strongest rider who sealed the win. I’m happy with my sprint and my performance!"

The upcoming stages are unlikely to fit the man who joined Bora after spending his whole career in the Equipo Kern Pharma structure. However (not only) yesterday's performance can give Adrià a lot of confidence towards National Championships next weekend. There he'll face teams with significant numbers advantage, however it wouldn't have been the first time a lone warrior outfoxed the hordes.
