Former rivals
Chris Froome and
Alberto Contador have reunited
over the past week for a ride in Miami, where they participated as guests in
the Best Buddies Challenge. The pair had some epic fights over the years, and
between them over the years and between them have won all three grand tours
multiple times.
Despite their intense rivalry throughout their careers, the
duo have a strong relationship and high levels of respect for one another.
Froome wrote on
Instagram, “It was great to catch up with the one and only Alberto
Contador in Miami.”
Whilst Contador is no longer racing professionally, Froome
will still be in the peloton for at least another year. These two stars of the
2010s are two of the best climbers the peloton has ever seen, and both would
have been right up their with Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard when they were
in their prime.
