EF Education-EasyPost makes the team level up in terms of contender for the Grand Tous overall classifications. The current Olympic Champion and former Giro d'Italia winner who made podium in the 3 Grand Tours will start his season in the Ecuadorian national championships.
The race will take place in his hometown Tulcan, so it's even a more special start of the season for Carapaz. He will be joined by his teammate and fellow compatriots
Jonathan Caicedo and Jefferson Cepeda who will do both the Time trial and the road race. Carapaz will only do the road race set to start this Sunday.
