In the last two weeks a storm has swept over the cycling peloton, with Jumbo-Visma in the leading role. For the time being, BORA-hansgrohe has emerged as the big winner, because the German team won the battle for Primoz Roglic.
"After the departure of Peter Sagan, the arrival of Primož is the next milestone for us," team owner Ralph Denk told the joint media at a press conference on Friday morning.
"Eight years ago I met Primoz for the first time in a beer garden in Salzburg. We already made him an offer. Coincidentally, I found that contract at the office on Thursday. I can also reveal that adding a zero after that amount would not be enough now," Denk laughs.
"I cannot make any statements about the terms and details of Primoz's contract. Most contracts contain a confidentiality clause, including ours. That's why I can't say anything about it, but it is clear that this collaboration will last longer than one year. I can confirm that," Denk concludes.
