Amstel Gold Race Ladies serves as the inaugural event for the Ardennes classics in the women's cycling calendar. Set for April 14th, this Dutch race holds significant importance for climbers and classics specialists, attracting top talent eager to tackle its challenging course. Let's explore its profile.
The 157-kilometer long race sees the roads of Valkenburg on display. It's the hilliest area of the Netherlands and it's quite apparent why it's one of the Ardennes classics. The race will have tough climbs early on, but should be decided in the final four-lap circuit. This includes the Geulhemmerberg (800 meters, 6.4%), Bemelerberg (700 meters, 5.3%) and the Cauberg (600 meters, 9.2%), before the finale in Berg en Terblijt.
