It's Monday, but we wake up with: 💛 8 Tours de France 💗 5 Giri d'Italia ❤️ 5 Vueltas a España We can't help it. We're over the moon. 🥹 #MondayMotivation | #MiekItHappen
The current Movistar Team is a team founded by José Miguel Echavarri and Eusebio Unzué in 1980 and has had had different sponsors and names since its inception (Reynolds, Banesto, Illes Balears, Caisse d'Epargne, Movistar...). It has just conquered another Grand Tour this Sunday.
Their longevity and good performance in the Grand in these more than four decades in the international peloton make them one of the most successful structures in history and the addition of a women's team and Annemiek van Vleuten have made them even bigger.
Yesterday, the Dutchwoman added La Vuelta Femenina to her list of victories and one more major for Movistar Team, which has so far accumulated no less than 8 Tours de France, 5 Tours d'Italia and 5 Vueltas a España (if you are to accumulate both men's and women's races).
Perico Delgado, Miguel Induráin, Óscar Pereiro, Nairo Quintana, Richard Carapaz, Alejandro Valverde, Abraham Olano and the aforementioned Annemiek van Vleuten are the men and women who have added grand tours to the track record of the UCI WorldTour's longest-running team.
