The victory of
Marc Hirschi in the
Veneto Classic feels like a relief for the Swiss rider . After a late season start due to hip surgery and poor performance in the
Tour de France, he can finally breathe a sigh of relief and prepare himself for the next season.
“I’m really happy with this win,” said Hirschi in the post-race interview. He continues, “Last year, I liked the Parcours a lot. It’s a very interesting race with the cobbled climb and the gravel. I knew the final climb from training, and I came back to Formolo and Conci over the top, and I attacked down the other side.”
It is the end of the season for the rider, and he is eager to improve his performance and win more races next season. “I’m already looking forward to next year. I’m looking for a good winter and ahead to next year. It was a special performance by us today. It’s a lot of fun to race in this team,” concluded Hirschi.
