Mads Pedersen has achieved a hell of a lot of the course of his career to date. One of the main goals of the his career is still proving elusive for the Dane though, a fact he is determined to change in 2025.
This fact is proven by a recent
Instagram post from the
Lidl-Trek leader during his off-season. "Everything I do is consumed by one purpose," writes the former world champion, captioning a picture of himself in Roubaix. As if this were not enough clues to decipher the riddle, Pedersen finishes his post with a very important date. "13.04.2025," the date of next year's
Paris-Roubaix.
Earlier this year, the 28-year-old crossed the line in 3rd in the iconic velodrome finale to the French monument, only bettered by an unstoppable Mathieu van der Poel and the Dutchman's Alpecin-Deceuninck teammate, Jasper Philipsen. "Mathieu van der Poel was just leagues better than the rest of us today," Pedersen reflected post-race back in April. "To finish on the podium is almost a win."
Indeed it was a first trip to the podium for the Dane at Paris-Roubaix, improving on his 4th placed finish from back in 2023. With Pedersen setting out his intentions so early ahead of the 2025 edition, a first ever monument victory could soon be heading is way. "We’re waiting for you Mads," replies the official Paris-Roubaix Instagram account, clearly excited for the upcoming battle on the French cobbles.
