Lotte Kopecky will hone race rhythm by competing in a male junior race: "I've done that a few times in the past"

Lotte Kopecky came with a surprising statement on start of Dwars door het Hageland. The Ronde van Vlaanderen champion recognizes that she has to get into racing rhythm before National Championships differently. Funnily enough, she'll do so by competing in a male junior race.

The SD Worx leader still rode Dwars door het Hageland, but after that she has to be creative. “Due to the lack of other competitions on the professional calendar, I will compete with junior boys. Next week I will start in Wetteren, after that I will also look for other junior races. I've done that a few times in the past," she tells Het Laatste Nieuws.

The last minute cancellation of the Lotto Belgium Tour affected many riders. The organization was told by a municipality that they could not guarantee the signaling of parking bans, one-way traffic and the placement of the diversions, and it also received a lot less signalmen than expected.
