The first stage of
Tour de France Femmes concluded with
Team DSM’s rider
Lorena Wiebes victory.
Lotte Kopecky finished third behind Wiebes and
Marianne Vos.
"I didn't win, but I am reasonably satisfied with this," Kopecky told Sporza. She continues, "For a moment, I thought I couldn't get through. This gives confidence for what's still to come. I was alone in the final because I didn't see anyone from the team. That's why I had to focus on a wheel and find my way, which worked out well."
Kopecky felt a little nervous participating in the tour and competing against the best riders, but she overcame it. "It was nervous, but it wasn't too bad. It's not like there were a lot of bends. That makes it a bit easier. And it was really nice with all those people on the side," concluded Kopecky. She holds the third postin in GC, 6 seconds behind overall leader Lorena Wiebes.
