Jonathan Caicedo leaves EF Education-EasyPost after five years with the team

After Diego Camargo, it's Jonathan Caicedo's turn to leave EF Education-EasyPost and the WorldTour for a Mexican continental team, Petrolike. Not renewed like his Colombian teammate, the Ecuadorian rider has therefore found a base two levels lower in 2024, after five seasons spent within the American structure.

A departure of the winner of the 2020 Giro d'Italia stage 3 with a summit finish on Etna was confirmed in Instagram stories, in which he thanks his team.

If the 2019 Ecuador champion did not specify his destination, David Plaza Romero, the general manager of Petrolike, confirmed to ADN Cycling his arrival next year. Objective: to consolidate and guide the young workforce of this ambitious Mexican-Colombian structure created in 2022 and which is aiming for Pro Team status in the next two years.
