Jeroen Blijlevens will get behind the steering wheel of a team leader's car again next year. The 51-year-old former rider will then start working as a team leader at the American cycling formation Lidl-Trek. Blijlevens previously worked as a team leader at Rabo-Liv and successors.
Blijlevens has not been active as a team leader in recent years, after he had to leave Liv-Racing at the end of 2020 - after nine years of employment. However, he will return to the cycling world in 2024, as team leader at Lidl-Trek. "Since Trek launched the women's team in 2019, I have always seen the team as very professional. Where they always raced together and with a plan," Blijlevens said in a press release.
"I am looking forward to joining the team and doing my part to achieve great results. I know Ina-Yoko very well and have a lot of respect for her. It will be great to work together next year. I will bring my eleven years of experience as a professional cyclist and nine years as a sports director to the team."
"I hope to share my experience and knowledge and work together as a team to achieve the highest possible goal. I look forward to working with one of the strongest formations in the peloton, backed by great staff members and sponsors," Blijlevens is very happy with his new challenge.
