Tour de France kicked off on Friday in Copenhagen with a time-trial stage.
Jakob Fuglsang finished in 64th position in the time trial a total of 55 seconds behind stage winner Yves Lampaert, a decent time for the home rider.
Despite not getting the victory the rider is happy and overjoyed seeing the support of fans: “I had goosebumps getting onto the ramp and it just continued like that all the way to the finish line. To get that kind of welcome from the fans was simply amazing. Thank you!” he shared on social media.
Fuglsang will have two more days in Denmark, and from there on the general classification race will turn to a more difficult task, one which the veteran is attempting to succeed in.
