"It's not that big of a difference" - Pascal Eenkhoorn unperturbed by potential Lotto relegation

Pascal Eenkhoorn will be joining the Lotto-Dstny team, formerly Lotto Soudal, for the upcoming 2023 season. Whether or not he will be riding for a World Tour team or not is still undecided however. Despite this, the 25-year-old Dutchman isn't worried, " I do look at it every now and then, but in the race I don't worry about it. It's not that big of a difference going forward either."

At the time of writing Lotto Soudal currently sit 19th in the UCI Team Ranking, just the wrong side of the relegation zone. With time running out, it is looking less and less likely that the team will be overtaking Cofidis, Team BikeExchange - Jayco or one of the other teams currently sitting in safety. They are however currently in pole position for a wildcard to all 2023 World Tour events, which would basically keep them a top level team in all but name.

Eenkhoorn who is currently in Wollongong, preparing the World Championship road race, believes that the potential relegation of his future employers is nothing for him to worry about. “I don't deal with it” he told WielerFlits, going on to say, "They are currently first on the ProConti ranking, then it might be a better starting position. Although it is of course nice if a team stays WorldTour."
