Human Powered Health adds Belgian duo Weemaes and Van Hoecke

American ProTeam, Human Powered Health have added the Belgian duo of Sasha Weemaes and Gijs Van Hoecke in preparation for an expected push by the team, for a bigger showing in Europe in 2023.

The team's directeur sportif is also Belgian, the 1992 Paris-Tours winner, Hendrik Redant. The former Omega Pharma-Lotto director will know his compatriots well, Sasha Weermaes is a 24-year-old who's previously been at Sport Vlaanderen–Baloise and most notably finished in 4th position at the Belgian National Road Championships and has shown his sprinting abilities over this year.

Gijs Van Hoecke meanwhile has been at AG2R Citroen for the past 2 seasons. The 30-year-old who has both gold and bronze medals from the World Championship on the track, also has a sole Grand Tour in his legs, finishing 122nd in the 2018 Giro D'Italia.
