Lizzie Deignan one of the most prominent riders in British Women's Cycling is set to return to race in May. The Trek-Segafredo rider wants to be at her best in the Women's Tour. But the race is having some financial problems, and it is unknown if the race will take lace this season.
“The way the race is run is extremely professional, and it’s probably been the most professional race we’ve had on the calendar, It will be a huge loss in terms of the opportunity for British teams to have a stage like that to race on, but also internationally it’s a really important race because June doesn’t have many stage races. It’s brilliant preparation ahead of the national championships and the Tour de France”, Deignan said to The Guardian.

$3,700/ €3,500/ £3,075 in prizes! There are hopes that the race will take place, but still, no guarantees as it is yet unknown if the race organizers will find a sponsor strong enough to cover the expenses.
“I would say it’s probably more likely than less likely [the race goes ahead] but it’s a very close call. If we don’t get some good news by Easter we will be seriously doubting our ability to put together a race that makes sense for us”, said chief executive, Hugh Roberts.
