"It will be noticed by all the big teams" - Uno-X Mobility braced for interest in Jonas Abrahamsen after second at Dwars Door Vlaanderen

Although many of the big, pre-race favourites crashed out at Dwars Door Vlaanderen 2024, Jonas Abrahamsen's impressive ride to finish second cannot be understated.

One of the riders to form the early breakaway, Abrahamsen found himself well clear of the mass crash that took out the likes of Wout van Aert, Mads Pedersen and Biniam Girmay. Then, even as the chase group regained contact with the front of the bunch, the Norwegian kept competitive, eventually finish the aforementioned second behind Matteo Jorgenson.

"It was very impressive and very well driven. It's incredibly fun that it happens to a rider who has been with the team from the very beginning. Today he was just insanely strong," Uno-X Mobility's CEO, Thor Hushovd reflected post-race in conversation with Eurosport. "He rode very well today. There is often something about a three-week tour and the Tour de France that does something to riders, and it really has for 'Abra'. He has improved considerably."

Given the impressive nature of Abrahamsen's performance however, Hushovd and Uno-X Mobility are braced for interest from bigger teams. "There is no doubt that it will be noticed by all the big teams," Hushovd admits. "But fortunately he has a couple of years left with us. It is a rider we must take good care of."
