Just over a month after taking victory at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Marianne Vos is back amongst the winners circle after triumphing at Dwars Door Vlaanderen.
The legendary Team Visma | Lease a Bike star was a constant presence at the head of the race, before finally entering the finale alongside Lidl-Trek's Shirin van Anrooij. Experience prevailed, with Vos taking the win in a two-up sprint for the line.

"A lot preceded that sprint," the 36-year-old Dutchwoman reflected in her post-race interview. "We worked well together until Elisa Longo Borghini gave chase and the game was played. From that moment on there was nothing to do but continue and save something for the sprint."
"Shirin is very strong and Lidl-Trek had two pawns in the front. Then you can play the game, so when Shirin goes, you shouldn't hesitate for too long and just go," Vos concludes. "Then it's sprinting with everything you have left. That's different from a bunch sprint, because you both suffered."
