"If you're at home I tell you not to miss it from the start" - Movistar DS alerts for serious risk of echelons on opening UAE Tour day

Pablo Lastras,DS of Movistar Team in the UAE Tour, spoke about the first stage before the start, explaining that due to the very long straight that the riders will have to face and the strong wind that awaits them, it is likely that there can be echelons during the stage.

"The stage is going to be hectic from kilometer 0, it's a 54 km straight, if you're at home I tell you not to miss it from the start".

The great participation of sprinters (Movistar arrives with Fernando Gaviria) in the race makes Lastras think that there is no big team above the rest that can control the race. He talks about the route, a dune area and that it will be a more than exciting stage:

"There is no team like this that dominates, all the teams are very complete, there are the best sprinters in the world, there will be a very very hard fight, then we reach a very nice dune area, a cycling track that we are debuting and then we return to the finish. There is no waste from km 0 to 141".
