Thirty-five monuments in total have been raced by Sagan with seventeen top 10 finishes to his name and a sole victory at each of the Tour of Flanders in 2016 and
Paris-Roubaix in 2018 and although most won't be backing Sagan to repeat that success this weekend, the prospect of not seeing the Slovakian at the start line next year is a sight many will miss.
Although his road career may be coming to an end, Sagan will continue to battle at the top level in mountain biking, recently saying his main goal for 2024 is to compete for the gold medal in the discipline at the Paris Olympics.
