The legendary Peter Sagan is set to ride the final monument race of his storied career this Sunday at Paris-Roubaix. Prior to what is sure to be an emotional race, “I mainly want to have fun" says the Slovakian.
Although just two monument victories on his palmares may seem like a shockingly low win ratio for someone of his quality, the now 33-year-old TotalEnergies rider has a total of twelve top five finishes throughout his monument career.

Thirty-five monuments in total have been raced by Sagan with seventeen top 10 finishes to his name and a sole victory at each of the Tour of Flanders in 2016 and Paris-Roubaix in 2018 and although most won't be backing Sagan to repeat that success this weekend, the prospect of not seeing the Slovakian at the start line next year is a sight many will miss.
Although his road career may be coming to an end, Sagan will continue to battle at the top level in mountain biking, recently saying his main goal for 2024 is to compete for the gold medal in the discipline at the Paris Olympics.
