“I believe that I can win the Tour de France" - Defiant Primoz Roglic bullish after BORA - hansgrohe reveal provisional lineup

With BORA - hansgrohe revealing their provisional lineup for the 2024 Tour de France, Primoz Roglic is more confident than ever in his hopes of taking that so far elusive Maillot Jaune.

“I believe that I can win the Tour de France," Roglic says at the BORA - hansgrohe team press conference according to RTV Slo. “We should not be afraid of the final outcome, but we should do our best. If we do whatever it takes, we can be happy at the end. For me, the Tour de France is the icing on the cake, but it is not an obsession.”

Roglic is set to be supported in his quest by an all-star BORA - hansgrohe lineup as the bring out all the big guns, including Jai Hindley, Aleksandr Vlasov, Nico Denz and Daniel Martinez. “We opt for the strategy of just one leader,” says sports director Rolf Aldag. “If Vlasov is fifth, we can use him tactically, but we are not going to reveal all our plans publicly now. We have only one goal and one leader. We are going without a sprinter and have not set any additional goals.”

“Primož creates positive pressure on the team to succeed and win,” he concludes. “He has already won several Grand Tours and is looking at the long term. If we do this wisely and support him well, Hindley and Vlasov, who are much younger, will also grow. They are certainly not going to be typical servants.”
