"I already won the race of my life" - Return to his best form secondary for Egan Bernal

Egan Bernal is participating in the Volta a Catalunya in what are his first kilometers of competition in Europe at the beginning of the spring. The Colombian rider is riding without pressure in order to get in shape with his sights set on the next Tour de France in the long term.

Speaking to Catalunya Radio, Bernal made it clear that, after the serious accident he suffered last year which almost cost him his life, he is now taking everything with much more relaxation and is clear that he has already achieved all the objectives he set for himself. Whatever more comes will be a gift.

"People think I have to win yes or yes, but I already won the race of my life. Obviously I want to be the best again, but I've already won a Tour and a Giro, I'm racing for my brother, I want him to know that his brother almost got killed but he's still racing", explained Bernal.

After Catalunya, Bernal plans to race the Itzulia at the beginning of April. In the Basque Country, with more kilometers in his legs, he will try to be competitive again, as he showed in San Juan at the beginning of the year before injuring his knee.
