Antonio Pedrero gained the 50-second lead, which grew to 2 minutes and 30 seconds in the next 10 kilometers. Alaphilippe and Rodriguez rode together just 1 minute and 50 seconds behind Pedrero.
Pedrero was starting to lose his lead with just 1 minute and 50 seconds in the final 10 kilometers. With just 4 skilometers to go, it was clear Pedrero would win, but the rider was also aiming for GC.
Antonio Pedrero crossed the finish first to secure gold. Harry Sweeny finished in second place while George Bennett secured bronze. Guillaume Martin won the tour.
