Guillaume Martin carries the Olympic flame as a leader of the collective cycling relay: "It was a great moment"

Guillaume Martin carried the Olympic flame to Mont-Saint-Michel this Friday, May 31. The Cofidis climber started the collective cycling relay organized by the French cycling federation. 8th in the Tour de France in 2021, Guillaume Martin is a local figure just like Daniel Mangeas, the voice of the Tour, to whom he passed the flame.

"I was the captain of a collective relay of the French cycling federation. There were 24 of us in total representing our sport. We made a small peloton which crossed this bay. I was able to pass the flame on to my dear Daniel Mangeas, voice of the Tour and local figure. It was a great moment," Martin expressed afterwards.

"It's a nice nod to the French Championships which will really be nearby and I know that they are very dear to Daniel Mangeas, where there was no sporting issue today, there will be in a few weeks."
