Ethan Vernon has taken the win on stage 4 of the 2024 Tour of Guangxi in Jinchengjiang, emerging victorious from the bunch sprint for the second successive day.
Heading into the final 50 kilometres, a Jinchengjiang group of four held the front of the race, including Pepjin Reinderink, Taco van der Hoorn, Stefan Bissegger and Stan Dewulf. Although they continued to fight bravely, heading into the final 5km, the last two remaining of the break, Dewulf and Reinderink, were just 10 seconds clear of the peloton.
At 2km to go though, the catch was completed. From there it was all about preparation for the sprint, despite a couple of flying attack before the flamme rouge. In the fight for the line it was frantic but in the end, victory for the second day I a row went to Israel - Premier Tech's Ethan Vernon ahead of Max Kanter and Alberto Bruttomesso.
