Dylan Groenewegen is one of the great favorites to win the Milan Torino. Before the race he spoke to Eurosport about his feelings and what he hopes to achieve.
The Dutchman is coming off a somewhat disappointing week at Tirreno Adriatico, where he was unable to take any wins. He hopes to leave Italy by winning Milan-Turin. He explains the reasons why he is not going to Milan-San Remo and concludes by giving the key to winning today.
"Yesterday I was a bit tired, I did a couple of hours of cycling and today I feel a bit better, I hope that during the race I will start to feel better and better and the legs will be there at the end," Groenewegen said in a press release. "I'm not going to Milan-San Remo because I think it's very complicated for me to get a good result there, I'll race again in Belgium next week."
"The positive thing is that I was in the pomp and the negative thing is that there were stronger riders, it's a bit sad for me. But if there are stronger guys I can't do anything, I hope to be stronger today. I expect today to be a sprint with a lot of turns, so I hope to place well," he concluded.
