In the final few kilometres, Dries de Bondt who had previously looked completely exhausted, found himself a lone leader some 13 seconds ahead of his nearest challengers as he went through the flamme rouge.
Despite his tiredness, de Bondt held on and in the sprint behind, his teammates Timo Kielich and Quinten Hermans secured a one-two-three for Alpecin-Deceuninck.
