Ever since his switch from mountain bikes to road cycling in 2021, the French
Clément Berthet has been gradually improving to the level where he finally dares to call his shot at winning big races. However there is one man opposed to Berthet getting his first professional victory, with
Lenny Martinez condemning his older compatriot to second places.
Most recently at the
Mercan'Tour Classic.
"At the foot of the Col de la Couillole, I was ideally positioned, and the team did a great job. It was a tactical climb with a lot of attacks and accelerations to close the gaps," Berthet summarized the early phases of the race in a
press communication.
